The Mudd Family

The Mudd family first moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 1973. After settling in the Cedar Valley, Jim and Cecelia Mudd bought the KCFI radio station, which they operated until 1981. It was then that Jim and Cecelia started Jim Mudd Advertising.

Since 1981, the company has grown to become a $60 million organization. It now employs 170 people, including employees in three states. The Mudd family currently owns six buildings in Cedar Falls and more than 100,000 square feet in real estate.

Since its inception, Mudd Advertising has expanded to include offices in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; and Nashville, Tennessee. The company has consistently supported hundreds of community projects over the years and continues to do so today.

The Mudd family believes in the Cedar Valley and is proud to continue to live and grow here in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Mudd family has slowly grown our real estate portfolio over the last 4+ decades in Cedar Falls, specializing in development, construction, remodeling, and more. We may have taken the slow road but are excited about where we are and where we are going.
